MATTHEW E. KRIEGER- CEO

Matthew Krieger is CEO of Discovery Miami Beach. For the past 12 years, Krieger has also served as CEO of Playground Maps, President of South Florida Title Group and Managing Partner at the law firm of Bratter Krieger LLP. Through these endeavors, Mr. Krieger is well entrenched in the South Florida community. As a long time resident of Miami Beach, Mr. Krieger graduated from the University of Florida with honors and the University of Miami School of Law.

Krieger has been featured in The Washington Post, The Miami Herald, Wall Street journal, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Ocean Drive magazine. Mr. Krieger has also established himself as a key player in a variety of civic organizations. He is VP and on the Executive Board of the Miami Beach Police Athletic League, also serves on the Miami Beach Chamber’s Board of Governors and sits on the City of Miami Beach’s Waterfront Protection Board.

Recognizing the importance of giving back, Mr. Krieger is the Chairmen of the University of Miami Sports Medicine Foundation, member of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Impact Circle and hosts an annual fundraiser for the Miami Beach PAL, an organization for underprivileged children.

JACKY KORN- President

Jacky Korn is the president of Discovery Miami Beach and has extensive experience as a local entrepreneur.  

Mr. Korn has developed and owned several restaurants and popular eateries. A consummate entrepreneur, Mr. Korn worked with Mr. Krieger to expand the client base of Playground Maps and has been instrumental in the development of self-guided audio-tour experiences for Puerto Rico and around the world. Based on the success of its first audio tour, Korn with Krieger have developed several other audio tour experiences for Puerto Rico’s government parks and local attractions.

Mr. Krieger and Mr. Korn wanted to share their passion for Miami Beach with others. Their goal was to create an informative, fun and well-produced self-guided audio tour highlighting Miami Beach’s past and present. Utilizing the latest technology in audio players, they have developed an audio tour experience that is truly listener focused. 

SARAH FREITAS- Director of Operations

Brazilian native Sarah Freitas is the Director of Operations at Discovery Miami Beach. In this role, Sarah manages and oversees all of the day-to-day functions of the company as well as proactive outreach to local hotels, concierges and destination management companies to form strategic partnerships. As well as her native Portuguese, Sarah speaks English and Spanish.

Miami Design Preservation League (MDPL) is a non-profit organization devoted to preserving, protecting, and promoting the cultural, social, economic, environmental and architectural integrity of the Miami Beach Art Deco District and throughout South Florida.
